News Nearby: Fulton County Officer Survives Being Shot in South Fulton County
The Fulton County Police Department is breathing slightly easier after hearing that one of their officers that was shot Thursday, will be just fine.
According to WSB reporting, "the police department said the officer, a 20-year-veteran, was hit in his bullet-proof vest and is OK. He has been taken to Grady Memorial Hospital."
The incident occurred at 4608 White City Road, near Roosevelt Highway early Thursday morning. The officer and a suspect exchanged gunfire, both were hit. The officer was saved by his bullet-proof vest and the suspect died at the scene.
GBI is handling the case, and more could be released in the future.
