One Dead in World Changers Church Shooting

Atlanta Police have arrested the suspect they called "armed and dangerous" just after 4 p.m. at Lenox Square Mall.

The Atlanta Police Department caught the "armed and dangerous" suspect, Floyd Palmer, who walked into World Changers Church during the 10 a.m. service on Wednesday morning and shot 1 person.  The suspect in the shooting has been identified as Floyd Palmer, age 52, and member of Creflo Dollar's World Changers Church located in College Park.  Floyd was on the run since the shooting around 10:30 this morning, but according the AJC, he was caught at Lenox Mall just before 4 p.m. today.

Atlanta Police Public Affairs Department says, Floyd Palmer shot Greg McDowell, age 39, as he, "walked calmly into the church and left just as calmly,” after the shooting. The police say that the suspect left the scene in a black Subaru station wagon.

Initial police reports do not give a motive for the shooting nor say if the victim was specifically targeted.  World Changers says that the suspect, Floyd Palmer, worked for the church but resigned this past August.  On the other hand, the victim is a current employee as part of the church’s production crew.  He was volunteering as prayer leader when he was shot by Mr. Palmer.
