Injured Pedistrian Left in Street After Hit and Run

Drag racing may be the cause. Police searching for 2005 Black Chevrolet Impala with tinted windows.

A pedestrian was struck in front of 1301 Joseph E. Boone Blvd. after exiting a Marta bus late Friday, according to Atlanta Police.

According to APD Officer Curtis Davenport, after exiting the rear side exit, the victim walked behind the bus to cross the street when he was struck by a 2005 Black Chevrolet Impala with tinted windows traveling west on Boone.

The Impala—which was described as having possible front end body damage or damage to the windshield—fled the accident scene. The impact of the vehicle pushed the victim approximately 40 feet west on on Boone.
