Photos from Dramatic Water Rescue Training Exercise at Princeton Lakes, Near Camp Creek

Atlanta Fire Department and APD held a joint water rescue training at Princeton Lakes last week.

Enjoy the photos from the Atlanta Fire Rescue Department (AFRD) and Atlanta Police Department (APD) joint water rescue training at Princeton Lakes from last week.

From the photos you can see how helicopters play a key role in saving victims within large bodies of water.  The training focused on how ground and air units can help each other save lives of citizens.

According to the Atlanta Fire spokesperson in a prepared statement, "helicopters are particularly helpful under conditions that may thwart the efforts of ground-based rescuers, such as fast-moving floodwater and other hazards that would challenge rescuers even in dry conditions."
