Update: Police Investigate Man Found Dead on Danforth Road near Cascade Road

The man had gunshot wounds and died in the street.

Update:  Kim Jones, from the Atlanta Police Department says that the man shot has been identified as 21 year-old Timmy Ashley.  He was walking home from the bus stop when he was believed to targeted by thieves and subsequently shot.  Atlanta police Capt. Adam Lee has said that there were 2 other robberies reported near the Danforth/Cascade intersection around the same time, and that the 3 crimes may be related.

"He was a very loving person. Whenever anyone saw him, he always had his arms out, hugging, kissing, loved by all is cousins," Michael Ashley, the victim's father, told Channel 2.

Police continue to try to find out more about the circumstances that led to a man's death on Danforth Road at around midnight on Thursday, August 23rd.

According to early reports, a man was seen stumbling down Danforth Road near Cascade Road around midnight, when a passerby stopped to help him.  According to CBS Atlanta, the man then dropped to the ground and died in the street.

Atlanta Police have not released information on any possible suspects as of yet.
