Police Kill 1 Home Invasion Suspect on Richland Road, SW, 2 others Escape
Suspects in overnight home invasion, caught in the act as they tried to flee the house.
Police say that during an overnight home invasion on Richland Road, near Lee Street and Cascade, a group of up to 4 men kicked in the door of a group of women and attempted to rob them.
According to CBS Atlanta, one of the women were able to hide in a closet and call 911. Because the response time was so quick, APD is saying they arrived as the men were fleeing the back door of the house.
APD opened fire on 2 of the men. 1 was shot in the arm, and 1 died on the scene. The other 2 escaped.

CBS quoted a family member of one of the young women who live in the house as saying he felt the motive was a robbery due to the woman's line of work.
CBS reports that is is unclear why the officers shot at the suspects, and the shooting is still under investigation.
