Police Search for a Suspect who Attempted to Rape a Girl While Walking to Kennedy Middle School

A 12 year-old girl says she was attacked and held at gunpoint on her way to school in Southwest Atlanta, Monday morning.

WSB-TV has reported that a 12 year-old girl named Destiny Williams was attacked by a man holding a gun on Monday morning as she walked to Kennedy Middle School in Southwest Atlanta.

According to the report, the attacker forced the girl behind a vacant home on Camilla Street, by holding a gun to her back.  Once behind the house, Destiny says that he asked her to unbutton her pants.  Destiny refused, and says she was able to push the gun away and took off running while screaming for help.

Neighbors who knew her,  saw her screaming as the little girl ran from this harrowing experience and came to her assistance.
