Search Continues for Fulton County Inmate

Rodney Askew left a work crew near Banneker High on Friday around 2 p.m.

Fulton County authorities are still searching for escaped inmate, 47-year-old Rodney Askew.

Askew left a work crew location near Banneker High School in South Fulton County around 2 p.m. on Friday, according to authorities.

Askew was being held on charges including burglary; possession of tools to commit crime; entering an auto; theft by taking; identification fraud; and criminal damage in the second degree, according to a report from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

According to Fulton County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Tracy Flanagan, Askew had a 30310 address.

"Deputies along side other local, state, and federal officers trained in tracking fugitives are casting a wide net to locate Rodney Askew," Flanagan said.

There is a $2,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of Askew.
