The following is directly from the Atlanta Police Department.  They need urgent help identifying this sexual assault suspect from Lillian Avenue, near Adair Park.

Attached is a sketch drawn Tuesday of a person Atlanta Police wish to identify.  A female was walking to work on Tuesday morning when she was dragged at knife-point to the side of a vacant home and sexually assaulted.  The official police narrative is below:

On 12/24/2013 I, Inv. Egbert, along with Inv. J. Watkins, responded to 636 Lillian Ave to investigate a report of a sexual assault. Upon arrival I interviewed XXXXX and audio recorded the interview.

BEGIN PARAPHRASED STATEMENT OF XXXXXX:

Ms. XXXXX was walking west-bound on Lillian Ave from the West End MARTA station. When she was about half of a block away from Metropolitan Pkwy she noticed that a man was following her. The man was a medium complexioned black male; about 6'2" in height; having a stocky but muscular build; having short hair and a several-day scruff of facial hair; having a scar on his left cheek that is a horizontal indented line about 1" to 1.5" in length; wearing a light blue, puffy, thigh-length jacket, and wearing a black skull cap.

Ms. XXXXX quickened her pace but the man ran up behind her and grabbed her around her neck in a full arm choke hold. Ms. XXXXX immediately began struggling with the man and the man then grabbed Ms. XXXXXX by the braids in her hair and Ms. XXXXXX saw that the man held a kitchen knife in a reverse grip in his right hand. The knife had a 6" to 7" slightly curved blade, and had a weathered real wooden handle with rivets visible in the side of the handle. The assailant dragged Ms. XXXXX by her hair into the muddy left-side yard of a house at 636 Lillian Ave. The house is currently under renovation. While being pulled to the side of the house, the assailant exclaimed, "I'm about to jook you." Ms. XXXXX slipped on the muddy turf and fell on her side to the ground. The assailant climbed on top of Ms. XXXXX and took her phone, saying, "I'm taking this so you don't call the police. The assailant also ordered Ms. XXXX to give him her ID, saying, "I'm taking this in case you call the police." the assailant then began fondling Ms. XXXXX crotch on top of her clothing. The assailant said, "I want that fat pu**y."

As the assailant was fondling her, he continued to brandish the knife in a raised hand as if he were about to stab Ms. XXXXXX. At some point during the altercation, Ms. XXXXXX looked at the assailant's face and saw that the man appeared to be wearing a piece of lycra cloth over the lower part of his face. The cloth was slipping down his face as Ms. XXXXX looked at him and Ms. XXXXX observed that the man had the above-described scar on his cheek. The man responded to Ms. XXXXX stare by saying, "You trying to look at my face?" Ms. XXXXX began pleading with the assailant to do her no harm and after a time, the assailant stood up and gave Ms. XXXXX her phone and ID back and ordered her to run away. Ms. XXXXXX ran west on Lillian Ave and called police.  END STATEMENT

I examined the crime scene and observed that multiple faux hair braids were lying in various places on the sidewalk in front of the house and on the side of the house, in the dirt. I also observed that the mud beside the house had been recently disturbed with multiple linear abrasions that appear to have been caused by the scuffing or dragging of feet across the turf. There was also a visible foot print in a soft potion of the mud. A pair of white headphones that Ms. XXXXXX had described as belonging to her were lying on the ground in this same area.

Crime Scene Unit Montgomery, 7334, responded to the scene and photographed the victim, the victim's shoe soles, and the crime scene. She also collected the hair braids for submission to the Property Unit. Composite Sketch Artist Kelly Lawson then conducted a composite interview with Ms. XXXXXXX and sketched a drawing of the assailant. Ms. XXXXXX confirmed that the composite sketch closely resembled her memory of the assailant's appearance..

Any information on the case can be submitted anonymously to the Crime Stoppers Atlanta tip line at 404-577-TIPS (8477), online www.crimestoppersatlanta.org or by texting CSA and the tip to CRIMES (274637). Persons do not have to give their name or any identifying information to be eligible for the reward of up to $2,000 for the arrest and indictment of the suspects.
