Suspect in Highway 166 Police Chase Apologizes

A 24-year-old man accused of leading police on a high-speed chase that began in DeKalb County and ended with a crash on Langford Parkway apologized in court Tuesday night, according to local news reports.

A 24-year-old man accused of leading police on a high-speed chase that went through parts of DeKalb County and Midtown before ending when he crashed his car on Langford Parkway east of Greenbriar Mall apologized in court Tuesday night, according to local news reports.

Sanchez Tenny, 24, limped into a DeKalb county courtroom Tuesday night to face a judge, according to a report on the WSB-TV Channel 2 website.

After a Channel 2 reporter asked Tenny “Do you want to say sorry to anyone?,” Tenny quietly replied, “I’m sorry to everybody whose lives I put in danger, as well as the officers.”

Tenny faces multiple charges, including aggravated assault on police, obstruction, felony fleeing and eluding, super speeder, reckless driving, driving on a suspended license and open container, authorities said, according to an Atlanta Journal-Constitution story about the incident.

A judge set his bond at $3,000 on each of his nine charges.

Police said he was already on probation for driving on a suspended license in another county and for a burglary in Louisiana. He will have another hearing Jan. 30.
