Video: Asst. DA Briefs NPU-T about Mays Teacher being Burglarized and Bizarre Arrest

Zone 4 Assistant District Attorney, JaDawnya Butler shared with the members of the NPU-T community a burglary story that finally ended in an arrest and conviction.

A teacher, who is on dialysis 3 times a week and takes care of her elderly mother, was constantly being burglarized and there were no clues left behind to tell the authorities who was committing the crimes.

The woman got proactive, and purchased an alarm and finally Zone 4 was able to catch the man in the act.  According to the ADA he had a grocery cart outside of a window in which he could quickly transport items.

When officers arrived at the location and asked the perpetrator to exit the window, they were surprised to hear that the man couldn't because he was elderly and his cane was outside in his cart.  Come to find out he was a serial thief and had been stealing for many, many years and was on probation.

Because of this long track record, the thief was convicted and will end up serving the max amount of time for his conviction.
