UPDATED: Driver Shot and Killed on Interstate-20 Identified; Passenger Charged

Car was pulled over when passenger shot driver, police say.

A shooting on I-20 near I-285 Monday has left a female driver dead and a passenger charged with killing her.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office identified the victim as 25-year-old Tyana Boyd of Atlanta, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Police later charged Boyd's passenger, Corey Jones, 28, with felony murder and aggravated assault, according to Officer John Chafee, a police department spokesman.

"It appears that the shooting did not occur while the vehicle was driving and that the vehicle was pulled to the left shoulder of the highway," he said in a news release.
