The forum for the schools feeding into and including Mays, Therrell, Washington and Douglass high schools—represented by SRT 1 and SRT 4-N.W.—is set for 6:30 p.m. tonight., Jan. 31, at Young Middle School.

The meetings—in various SRT areas—began Mon., Jan. 30, and continue through Feb. 2. APS has already posted the new options and maps on the district's web site. On Monday, Cascade Patch reported on the elementary and middle schools, in southwest Atlanta and across the city, in line for closing.

At the end of 2011 and in early January, demographers held a series of public meetings to present four options, which have drawn widespread opposition.

Dozens of people spoke at Atlanta public schools board of education community meeting on Jan. 10, most in opposition to the demographers' plans. The public comments portion of the APS meeting, which originally was set for 60 minutes, lasted for more than two hours, as more than 50 people spoke before the board.

Here is the complete schedule of the new meetings, along with documents compiled by demographers for the previous sessions, on the system's Talk Up APS blog.
