Atlanta City Councilwoman Pleads Guilty to DUI Charge

Cleta Wilson was arrested last year after allegedly committing several moving traffic violations in southwest Atlanta.

On Tuesday, Atlanta City Councilwoman Cleta Wilson pleaded guilty in Fulton County State Court to a charge of DUI less safe stemming from her drunk-driving arrest last spring.

She was placed on non-reporting probation for a year, ordered to pay a $700 fine and complete 40 hours worth of community service, along with several alcohol-related classes and programs.

Wilson was arrested in May 2013 after allegedly committing several moving traffic violations in southwest Atlanta.

Wilson has been on the council since 1993 and serves the fourth district, which includes many southwest Atlanta neighborhoods including the West End.
