Atlanta Voters United Partners with Ludacris On Youth Voter Registration Drive

Celebrity basketball game at Morehouse College Feb. 2.

Atlanta Voters United, a unique clearinghouse voter education and registration organization, has partnered with the Ludacris Foundation in an all out effort to tap into the power of 15,000,000 young people who have become eligible to vote since the presidential election of 2008.

The group will be highly visible during the 7th annual “LudaDay” 2012 weekend activities in the Atlanta University Center during the Labor Day Weekend, according to a news release. A battalion of AVU workers will be on hand to register potential voters as well as solicit additional volunteers to further the cause of this cherished civic responsibility and privilege.

In years past, thousands have converged upon the AUC to participate in a number of activities which target the younger population. Atlanta Voters United, which is a non-profit, non-partisan organization, will spread the register-to-vote message during a celebrity basketball game led by Ludacris (Christopher Bridges) and Kevin Hart at the Forbes Arena at Morehouse College from 3 p.m. and 8 p.m.

For the first time, the Luda event has enlarged its community enrichment efforts by encouraging young people to step to the plate and execute their voice through the power of the voting ballot. Because of its state-of-the art technology and social media approach, Atlanta Voters United successfully gained the honor of becoming the vehicle to execute this initial effort during the Labor Day Weekend festivities. The organization anticipates adding hundreds of
young voters to the voting roster over the course of the holiday weekend.
