Fulton County Begins Open Enrollment of the Health Insurance Marketplace - Enroll Early
The government may be temporarily shutdown over Obamacare, but the fact is that it's the "law of the land" and open enrollment has now begun. Starting October 1, 2013, citizens can apply and enroll in health coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace at HealthCare.gov. Health coverage starts as early as January 1, 2014, and open enrollment ends on March 31, 2014.
Through the Marketplace, citizens can apply, compare options, and find out if they can get lower costs on monthly premiums or get free or low-cost coverage. When citizens are ready to enroll, they will decide how to pay their premiums or get help signing up for Medicaid or CHIP if they're eligible.
Fulton County as official "Champions of Coverage" will kick off Open Enrollment on October 1st and throughout the month by hosting Enroll America at several libraries throughout the county to provide information to citizens on the marketplace and how to enroll.
