Fulton County Offers Local Obamacare Enrollment Assistance on Saturday

Health insurance coverage as provided through the Affordable Care Act will begin on January 1, 2014 for individuals who enroll in health insurance plans through the federal Health Insurance Marketplace by December 23.

To help residents get more information about the Health Insurance Marketplace before the December 23 deadline, Fulton County is partnering with Enroll America to hold an Enrollment Summit on Saturday, December 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Summit will take place simultaneously in four locations :

·         North Fulton Government Center - 7741 Roswell Road, Sandy Springs, 30350

·         Family Health Centers of Georgia (formerly West End Medical Center) - 868 York Avenue SW, Atlanta, 30310

·         Southside Medical Center - 1046 Ridge Avenue SW, Atlanta, 30315

·         Cliftondale Park Recreation Center - 4645 Butner Road, College Park, 30349

During the summit, residents will have the opportunity to get information and resources to help them review coverage options or participate in the enrollment process. 

Since adopting a resolution supporting the Affordable Care ACt, Fulton County government has actively partnered with Get Covered America on community awareness and outreach efforts. This will be the first large-scale, enrollment focused event.

 “In Fulton County, 23 percent of working-aged, uninsured people stand to gain affordable health insurance – many for the first time. That’s why it’s crucial for our residents to understand the benefits they are now eligible for on the new, health insurance Marketplace and how the Affordable Care Act can provide financial security for their entire families,” said Chairman John Eaves.
