The following is a letter written by Rep. Keisha Waites, who on July 31st which includes parts of Clayton, DeKalb and Fulton counties.  Neighbors across the counties voted 66% for the incumbent.

"I am humbled by the results of Tuesday's election; voters in District 60 have spoken and blessed me with the privilege and honor of returning to the Gold Dome to continue the work of fighting for working families, revitalizing depressed communities and being a passionate advocate for equality and human rights for every Georgian.

From the day that I was sworn-in, I knew that the only way voters would fully entrust me with the responsibility of being their State Representative, was by working hard every day at the State Capitol and in their neighborhoods. I wish to recognize and salute each of the candidates that joined me in entering the district 60 race for your sacrifice and willingness to serve. I also wish to salute the late Gary "Pee-Wee" Davis for his work and service to the district. I share this Victory with you Gary!

I would like to thank the voters of the 60th district and all of my supporters across the state. Your support carried us to an overwhelming victory of 66% of the vote. I really appreciate the confidence you have entrusted in me. Praises to God that he provided every resource and we endured to the end, now a new Journey begins!

Special thanks to my family who began this journey with me many years ago and prayed to see this victory come to past. I am forever grateful to my supporters, family and friends who funded this campaign and lifted us up in prayer.
