Letter to Editor: Keep Herring Road Post Office Open!

I want to continue to encourage Southwest Atlanta residents to send emails or letters to the Post Master General encouraging him to keep our post office OPEN!

Back in July, the Cascade Patch reported that the United States Post Office had placed the (right off of Cascade Road) on a list of offices that would be closing.

On Friday (October 14) morning, I stopped by this post office to send a priority letter and learned from one of the clerks that the USPS had put plans to close this particular post office “on hold.”

I mentioned to the clerk that the asking concerned citizens in the area to mail or email the Post Master General’s Office to let him know that the Post Office on Herring Road is a vital and needed facility for Southwest Atlanta residents. Apparently, many folks sent emails and wrote letters or made phone calls.

I would again encourage Southwest Atlanta residents to continue to send emails or letters to the Post Master General encouraging him to not simply put plans to close the Herring Road Post Office “on hold,” but rather to keep this post office OPEN!

Keep up the pressure and continue to call 1-800-ASK-USPS and register a complaint for the Post Master General.
