Letter to the Editor: Shelley Wynter's Support of Cain. You Can't be Serious!

A response to Shelley Wynter's blog about Herman Cain in Cascade Patch on October 4, 2011.

First let me thank you for providing me this layup opportunity to respond to American Black Conservatives (ABC) irrational, misleading to the point of deceitful and the insult of black people as a group with propaganda, for the sole purpose of political gain.

Shelly, since your comments did not have any actual political policy points or a platform and their technical foundations, I only have to examine your anecdotal ideas and delusional conservative "mindset propaganda”  limitations to answer why the vast, overwhelming majority of black people distrust Herman "It's Just Sex" Cain.

I think any commentator would use facts and logic to substantiate their positions if they truly want to change minds and expand their voting base.
Why? Because IJS and you give cover to racist republicans for their hateful and only veiled racist ideology. How can Herman Cain, a man of God (Antioch Baptist Associate Pastor) suggest killing immigrants with an electrified fence and blame the neediest people in our society for their poverty?

Somehow I think caring for the weak, poor and unfortunate are virtuous character traits any legitimate religion teaches for its community. I wonder what Antioch really thinks about his stated positions being in line with what they preach. Eddie Longs prosperity pimpin' cult, I mean church, would better fit his hypocrisy on so many levels.

Black and People of Color know the political code words used by Republicans to identify them derogatorily and appeal to white racial sensitivities. You know them because you use them yourself. This disturbs our deeply rooted sensitivity to being sold into slavery by other native Africans. ABCs actually do reap financial reward for just saying the right wing propaganda. Supreme Court nominations, book tour proceeds and RADIO TALK SHOW gigs.

A simple mind thinks HBCs, attending church, a traditional family structure and business success by any means defines "correct" blackness. I guess there are no black Ivy Leaguer atheists from a single parent household that work in charity. If there are, to you they are not really culturally black. I can make many more analogies. Why would any serious and reasonable black person sincerely believe that we as a culture have turned into secular, high school educational dropouts on welfare? Why would anyone trust anything said by someone who espouses this about their own race?

Why, you even had to ask underscores that "mindset propaganda" syndrome. Even if it does not apply, makes no sense, is hypocritical and goes against Christian values or an outright lie, it doesn’t matter because any thought just has to hit the emotional right wing button for it to gain traction.

I for one am VERY discontent with President Obama because of not what he said, but his lack of doing what he said would do, but that's another editorial. As I trusted Obama to do what he said I also trust IJS to do what he says if elected.  That’s why most people of color don’t support him. His policies are for selling books and increasing Speaking fees, not leading America

Simple solutions from a folksy ABC will do irreparable harm to all of America, but you don't want me to get into the technical details.

Media organization personnel / talent decisions independently made as an analogy of presidential influence is a fundamentally deceptive manipulative tactic to demonize a president and government institutions.

This is a long standing political strategy of republicans.

I guess simple, unsophisticated minds are vulnerable to such because it works. Disadvantaged whites vote time and time again against their economic best self interests.

And please explain why you didn't just confirm that IJS' candidacy is really all a sham anyway since "you go with second best to get to the best" singles dance analogy.

And to top it off you directly insult Black people's intelligence as a whole (I guess except ABCs) TWICE!

1. Brainwashed? I don't need to legitimize that with a comment.

2. Give up voting in your local Democratic primary to vote for IJS in Republican primary?

As John McEnroe famously said "YOU CAN'T BE SERIOUS!"

PS. Yeah Shelley this is me from the Young YMCA
