List of Local Parks with Upcoming Renovations

The Department of Parks and recreation recently attended the various NPU meetings to update residents about ongoing park projects.

Here is the list of park improvements being done in our area:

NPU-K
Washington Park - new curbing, regrading and sod will be added to the baseball field backstop area to prevent washouts of the infield material. Sections of the asphalt walking path around the field area will be removed and replaced over the next two months as weather permits.

NPU-P
Ben Hill Recreation Center Addition and Renovations - construction on the addition should be starting after Thanksgiving.

Ben Hill Park Artificial Turf Field - legislation awarding contract to Fieldturf Inc has been approved. Following execution of a contract, engineering work, and permitting will be undertaken with construction anticipated, weather permitting in early 2013.

NPU-S
John A White Park Pool - bids are in and a recommendation has been made for contract award. Obtaining Council approval and getting an executed contract are still required. Construction is not anticipated until late winter/early spring 2013
