NPU-T Residents Urged to Identify 5 Properties in Need of Immediate Action by Code Enforcement

There are a number of properties within the community that have become an eye sore, if not worse.

NPU-T members have been urged, by Chair Nia Knowles, to identify properties in the area that need immediate action from the City of Atlanta and Code Enforcement.

These properties may have overgrown lawns, structural damage, may or may not be abandoned, or may be inhabited by squatters.  Whatever may be the case, NPU-T is wanting to rate which properties are in the worst condition and have been in that state for the longest amount of time, so that they can prioritize and request immediate action be taken.

Code Enforcement is unfortunately a very small department, and during this housing crisis they have become totally inundated.  So helping them to prioritize is crucial.

Code Enforcement issues have been a top concern within NPU-T meetings for a number of months, and they have already begun to put together a great reporting system, including the Facebook Page which has turned out to be a good resource.

So as you drive around your neighborhoods during the next few days, please take note of the properties that you feel are dangerous and are a blight to the community.  Take a picture, write down the address, and submit it to the list of code enforcement complaints.  Hopefully this action will allow for a quicker and more methodical approach of dealing with the property and resolving the issues.
