Randolph Elementary Leads Fulton County Title I Distinguished Schools List

The school has earned Adequate Yearly Progress for 13 years—more than any other school in the district.

 

Randolph Elementary School in near south Fulton is leading the Fulton County Schools' list of schools making three or more years of Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) and earning the Title I Distinguished Schools designation, according to a news release from the district.

Randolph is also on a much smaller list of Fulton Schools receiving a monetary award for remaining on the list for 10 or more years.

Randolph —which is within the Cascade Patch boundaries—and nearby Stonewall Tell earned awards at $3,060 and $2,295, respectively.

The district has a total of 28 schools earning the Title I Distinguished Schools status and four earning monetary awards in 2012:

Title I funds are distributed by the federal government under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act to assist in educating students who are economically disadvantaged. In Fulton, schools are eligible for Title I funding if 35 percent or more of the children in an attendance zone qualify for the free and/or reduced price meal program.
