Sen. Fort to Hold Town Hall Meeting for the Repeal of ‘Stand Your Ground’ Laws

Sen. Vincent Fort is the Senate Minority Whip and represents the 39th Senate District which includes Fulton County.

Sen. Vincent Fort (D-Atlanta) will hold a town hall meeting on the repeal of ‘Stand Your Ground’ law, TUESDAY, Dec. 10, 2013 at 7 p.m. at First Iconium Baptist Church.

He will be joined by civil rights activists and community leaders including representatives from Georgia Coalition for the People’s Agenda, Let Us Make Man, Atlanta NAACP, Georgia Gun Sense Coalition, The Millennial’s Movement, Concerned Black Clergy, Georgia Rural Urban Summit, Georgia Women’s Action for New Directions, Atlanta Democratic Socialists of America, Atlanta North Georgia Labor Council, Young Democrats of Georgia, Young Democrats of America and Georgians for Gun Safety.

Concerned citizens are encouraged to take part in this important conversation as various stakeholders mobilize efforts to repeal the ‘Stand Your Ground’ law in Georgia.
