State Senator Vincent Fort Hosts Roundtable on Stopping Gun Violence

The forum is to be held on Friday, January 3rd at 11am.

Georgia State Senator, Vincent Fort, has been very vocal in his desire for Georgia to pass an Assault Weapons Ban after seeing week after week how much pain and death these guns brings to cities like Atlanta.

After the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary, Fort said:

“As a father, I have watched the events in Newtown unfold with pure horror.  The time has come for reform so that these kinds of tragedies throughout the country are eradicated. How many more innocent children must be killed before we act? I am calling on my colleagues in the Georgia General Assembly to join me in passing legislation that will help to end these senseless acts of violence once and for all.”

Senator Fort will hold this forum at 11am in the Georgia Capitol building, joined by parents from the Champions for Children organization.

exactly what legislation prevents unauthorized persons from stealing a legal firearm and committing atrocities? "Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed one." ~Cesare Beccaria

Fort needs to read the Bible more; he may think Cain was falsely accused of killing his brother; he thinks it should have been the cane!
