Video: Residents Gather to Hear Councilmembers' Plans for Stopping New Family Dollar Stores

Hundreds of residents showed up at Adamsville Recreation Center to support saying NO to Family Dollar.

At last week's town hall meeting at Adamsville Recreation Center, Atlanta City Councilman C.T. Martin continued to work with the community in their fight against Family Dollar.  Community members are concerned about the recent growth in the number of Family Dollar stores in our area along with their proximity to each other, and want the building to stop immediately.

In the video, Councilwoman Keisha Lance Bottoms tells over 150 residents the 3 legislative changes that she and her fellow SW Atlanta representatives are proposing within the council.

  1. Notify Councilpersons when certain permits are applied for - PASSED
  2. Moratorium on Building Permits in the area - PENDING
  3. Create Distance Requirements between Discount/Bargain stores - PENDING
