Wendy Williams in Atlanta - Councilmember Keisha Bottoms Presents her with Proclamation

Wendy Williams is a best-selling author and supporting Atlanta's book club, "Hooked on Books."


According to a written statement from the office of Communications at the Atlanta City Council, "Atlanta City Councilmember Keisha Lance Bottoms, District 11, presented a proclamation to best-selling author and television talk show host Wendy Williams on Friday at Atlanta City Hall"

As it turns out, Wendy Williams was the special guest of the City of Atlanta’s book club, “Hooked on Books,” a employee reading and literary discussion club co-sponsored by the Office of the Mayor and the Department of Human Resources.

Most people know of Williams' career in television, but she is also an accomplished author of the New York Times best seller, “The Wendy Williams Experience,” and her newly released book, “Ask Wendy,” which covers important life topics such as relationships, parenting, style and beauty.

It was an honor to welcome Wendy Williams to Atlanta City Hall. In her latest book, “Ask Wendy” she not only speaks from life experiences, but also speaks to her readers from her heart. It was a nice experience to have our employees, many of whom are fans, to meet Wendy in person.  Several of our employees even had the opportunity to ask questions and get advice.”

The Communications office says that, "the Hooked on Books reading club has hosted several authors including Pearl Cleage, Dwayne Wade, Terry McMillan, Award-Winning Actress Victoria Rowell, CNN contributor Dr. Sanjay Gupta and former Atlanta City Council President and State Superior Court Judge Marvin Arrington, Sr."
