Family Fun: Easter Egg Hunts, Celebrations and Egg Dyeing

Easter is right around the corner, so get out and have fun with these family-oriented holiday events!

The hunt is on this weekend as children look forward to finding enough brightly colored and candy-filled eggs to put in their baskets and ultimately in their tummies.

So bring the family all together this weekend with some traditional and timeless Easter activities. Here are some of my top picks for Easter events around town this weekend!

Saturday, April 7

The Annual Dinosaur Egg Hunt at the Fernbank Museum is truly an Atlanta favorite. Before the museum actually opens, children will participate in timed egg hunts (by age), photos with the dinosaur mascot, games, giveaways and lots more. Plus Radio Disney will be on hand to provide the musical entertainment. Pre-registration is required.

On the south side of town, bring the kids' baskets and head to the Easter Egg Hunt Extravaganza at the Riverdale Town Center! There will also be a bouncy house, photos with the Easter Bunny and music! This one is FREE!

Families can come to the Natural Egg Dyeing at Atlanta Botanical Gardens and learn how to dye eggs the all-natural way, with plant dyes. Come out for a fun and educational Easter experience.

Radio Disney and the Easter Bunny are both going to be providing tons of entertainment at the Hop in the Park at Atlantic Station event. There's going to be lots of fun activities such as games, music and face painting. Best part for parents: It's all FREE!

On Saturday and Sunday (April 8) children can head to the Easter Celebration at Imagine It! The Children's Museum of Atlanta where they'll enjoy Easter stories and making Easter crafts.

Monday, April 9

The Egg Hunt at Smith Family Farm is technically the day after Easter, but with activities like the "Peep Toss," "Bunny Hop," an Easter egg hunt and lots of craft-making, this event is certain to be a lot of fun for kids! Plus there will be a surprise visit from the Easter Bunny!
