Environmental Justice" Resolution July 17th 10:00 AM

A vote by the Board of Commissioners simply establishing special distance requirements between an environmentally-stressed community and pollution points, such as a chemical manufacturing plant, is scheduled for a third public hearing on July 17, 2013, at Fulton County Government Center, 141 Pryor Street SW, at 10:00am.

Since we do not yet have a firm commitment from ALL Commissioners representing South Fulton to support our environmental health in our homes, and we expect that our elected officials will support residents over special interest groups and lobbyists from the Real Estate Industry who are opposed to its passage we. We must turn out as the facts are that this resolution only affects a few Southside residential areas where there are existing pollution sites.

Please plan to attend on the 17th and also let your local and at large Commissioners know in advance, that you expect their support of your neighborhood’s health, as a number of residential communities within the Sandtown and will be better protected by this reasonable public safety legislation.
