7 Southwest Atlanta Area Students Named 2013 Carson Scholars

The Carson Scholars Fund announced today that 7 of 20 Atlanta area students named 2013 Carson Scholars, are from schools in SW Atlanta.


The Carson Scholars Fund has announced that 7 of 20 Atlanta area students named 2013 Carson Scholars, are from schools in SW Atlanta. 

They are among 91 students in the southeastern United States to receive the 2013 Carson Scholar title. These students will be recognized at the Annual Carson Scholars Fund Awards Ceremony.

Since 2002, the Carson Scholars Fund has recognized more than 400 students in the southeast. The Annual Awards Banquet is the most important event of the year for the Carson Scholars Fund as it honors these high achieving students in the presence of their families, educators, school administrators, and community.

Dr. E. Grady Bogue, chancellor of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, will give special remarks and world-renowned pediatric neurosurgeon and New York Times Best Selling author, Dr. Ben Carson, will deliver the keynote speech to be held Sunday, May 5, at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
