The Auburn Avenue Research Library will host local historian Nasir Muhammad of Black Mecca of the South Tours in a discussion about the 1930 murder of Dennis Hubert. Hubert, the son of a minister and a Morehouse student, was killed for the "crime" of insulting a white woman. Mr. Muhammad will examine the historical context of this murder and its impact on the city of Atlanta. He has authored an article about the case with Dr. Stephane Dunn, Morehouse College professor and Co-Director of the Cinema, Television & Emerging Media Studies program at Morehouse College. Dr. Dunn will facilitate the discussion.
