Greenbriar Back to School Jam Set for July 30th

Atlanta City Councilmember Keisha Lance Bottoms,in partnership with Greenbriar Mall, Everest College and Amerigroup, will give away 1,000 back packs filled with school supplies at Back to School Jam 2011.

The event is set for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sat., July 30, at Greenbriar Mall, 2841 Greenbriar Pkwy. Back to School Jam 2011 will feature a resource fair, live entertainment and a Kids' Corner that will include arts & crafts, bouncers, face painting and lots of giveaways.

“I am pleased to again partner with our corporate sponsors and donors to present this much anticipated and motivational event this year,” Councilmember Lance Bottoms said. “The response we received last year from area students and their parents was tremendous. It is a rewarding experience to provide our children with essential back to school items, and the joy on the children’s face makes it all worthwhile.”

Pre-registration for back-to-school supplies begins at 9 a.m. near Burlington Court on the day of the event. Supplies are first come, first serve.

“We are excited to present the 2011 Back to School Jam to give back to the Southwest Atlanta community and the families in which we serve,” said Greenbriar Mall Marketing Director Gwendolyn Motley. “Our children’s education is vital to the growth of our community and Greenbriar Mall takes pride in being partners of their success.”

Greenbriar Mall is one of Atlanta’s oldest indoor shopping centers and features a mix of national retailers such as Burlington Coat Factory, Foot Locker, and Macy's, and great local retailers.

It has been a southwest Atlanta fixture since 1965.
