Interim Principal at North Atlanta High School Ousted

Mark MyGrant, senior administrative officials, were told to leave Friday.

Mark MyGrant, the interim prtincipal at North Atlanta High School, and his administrative leadership at the Buckhead school were removed from their posts late Friday.

Atlanta Public Schools officials did not explain the reasonfor the sudden change.

Indeed, the disrict brought MyGrant out of retirement to run the school as interim, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

In letter posted to the APS website, Superintendent Erroll B. Davis simply wrote the changes were effective immediately.

Sid Baker, the former principal of Sarah Smith Elementary, will run the school until Oct. 29, when Howard Taylor takes over.

APS' board approved of Taylor's selection on Monday. Taylor is a principal in the Gwinnett County schools.

"We understand that this will be a time of excitement, as well as a major transition, at NAHS," Davis wrote.

"However, we are confident that the structured transition period will give us an opportunity to enhance the educational opportunity for all students."

Escorted off the property on a Friday afternoon in front of the students? What are they being accused of? This is very harsh treatment. And the entire staff?

How old is Mark Mygrant? Looks pretty young for his age to be retiring...
