KIPP WAYS and Cleveland Ave. Elementary Teachers Up for APS Teacher of the Year

Cascade Patch wants to send a huge "shout-out" to two dynamic local teachers that are finalists for Atlanta Public schools' Teacher of the Year Award.  There are only 3 finalists from the entire school system, and 2 of them teach right here in our neighborhoods.

Finalists from Cleveland Avenue Elementary, KIPP WAYS Academy and North Atlanta High School will compete to become the Atlanta Public Schools (APS) 2013-2014 Teacher of the Year during an awards ceremony on October 17 at 5:30 p.m. in the auditorium of Benjamin E. Mays High School.

Candidates for APS Teacher of the Year are nominated by their respective schools. APS then selects an elementary, middle school and high school teacher of the year from a list of semi-finalists to compete for the districtwide honor. The 2013-2014 finalists are as follows:
