What are you looking for in your first week of spring practice?

During spring practice I'm looking to build a foundation for the program. I'm also looking for tough minded guys that are looking to compete and get better each day. And lastly I'm looking for guys that make plays on both sides of the football.

You had a career in the NFL, including with the Atlanta Falcons. Does that experience give you a bit of instant credibility with your players?

Playing pro ball helps me with instant credibility because guys understand that I'm from here and I made it. So it gives them hope that, with hard work, maybe they can to.

Westlake's last playoff win was in 2005. What are your hopes for the upcoming season?

Well, we're going to take it one game at a time, but our No. 1 team goal for the season is to be the region champs. After that, we'll continue to take it one game at a time.

In your free time (if you have any), what do you like to do? Any hobbies?

I don't have much free time, but I enjoy spending time with my kids.
