Parents and Students Say Mold and Sewage are Still a Problem at Washington High

A local parent of a Washington High School student contacted WSB-TV yesterday to complain about the health conditions that students are being forced to deal with at the school.

According to the WSB-TV report, parents "were worried about mold and raw sewage issues at the school and sent pictures documenting the problem."  Pictures in WSB's possession show mold covering band uniforms and raw sewage seeping from the floor.

Parents and students have been complaining about the problem since summer school, according to WSB, and were able to get the school to address the issue.

Atlanta Schools Associate Superintendent Steve Smith told WSB that they hired a company to clean the mold and that this company has informed the school system that the affected areas are now safe for staff and students.

Parents and students do not believe it, and especially since they are being told the cause was due to heavy rains over the past few months.  So without a permanent fix yet, the mold and sewage could come right back after another heavy rain.
