Atlanta Technical College joined the nationwide festivities, hosting "A Voter Registration and Education Blitz," last week.

On September 25, thousands of voters celebrated the inauguration of a new holiday — National Voter Registration Day (NVRD) — in a massive effort to register voters in all 50 states before Election Day. Atlanta Technical College joined the nationwide festivities, hosting “A Voter Registration and Education Blitz.”

The nonpartisan event was held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Academic Building on the campus located at 1560 Metropolitan Parkway, SW. The East Point/College Park Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Rainbow PUSH, Rolling Out Magazine and the Pi Alpha Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha partnered with the college for the event.

Students, staff and members of the community had the opportunity to register to vote, check voter status and obtain information on what is needed to properly cast a vote in Georgia.  Information was also available for those who have recently relocated or may be voting for the first time.
