Spelman Promotes Health and Fitness with Inaugural Wellness Revolution 5K Run/Walk

More than 800 participants from the community took part in the run/walk to promote health and wellness.

As part of Spelman's Wellness Revolution and its 132nd Founders Day activities, Spelman President Beverly Daniel Tatum lead the charge to promote personal health and fitness during the April 6th inaugural Wellness Revolution 5K Run/Walk.

According to a prepared statement from Spelman College, "the run/walk supports President Tatum’s quest to have a direct impact on lowering the percentage of Black women who face serious health challenges, and forge a new health and wellness path for the Spelman community."

Opening with a "warm-up" led by Spelman alumna and celebrity lifestylist AJ Johnson, the event started at Spelman, and winded through parts of the Atlanta University Center to end back at Spelman. The program will also featured coordinated activities for runners and walkers, as well as fitness classes, health and wellness information, and light refreshments.
