State of the Schools: Douglass Cluster Meeting is Thursday

Parents and community members concerned about security, performance, and other issues within the Frederick Douglass High School Cluster are invited to the State of Schools meeting.

Over the past month, K-12 regional executive directors and school principals have been holding their own forums to provide an update on the state of the schools in each cluster.  On Thursday, February 21st the Frederick Douglass High School Cluster will have its turn to learn the state of our schools.

The event will be held at Coretta Scott King YWLA at 6 p.m.  The school is located at 1190 Northwest Drive, Atlanta, GA 30318.  Phone: (404) 802-4962

APS leaders will discuss the academic offerings in our schools and answer questions from parents, students, employees and partners.

The latest news including how to keep schools safe from gun violence in and around our schools will likely be a hotly discussed issue.  Mayor Kasim Reed has said recently that he wants to put cameras in every school and have them properly monitored to be able to quickly react to any emergencies.

What are the issues that most concern you in our school system?  Be part of the discussion and help make our schools better.
