Westlake High School's Weekly PTSA News Blast

For Parents,Teachers, and Students of Westlake High School.

Principal's Message

Dear Westlake Families,
As we move into our third week of school, it was important to me that you be aware of the following information:

  • Student Schedules
On Friday, August 24, I was notified by Fulton County Schools that Westlake would lose several allotments due to decreased student enrollment. As a result, we made shifts to schedules for some students at Westlake. All students were given a new copy of their schedule on Monday, regardless of whether there were any changes.

Please talk with your child about their schedule. To the best of our knowledge, each student is in the required courses for graduation. If you believe your child is not in a correct course for graduation, please reply to this email and I will forward your concern to your child's counselor for review.
  • Email Communication from Westlake we implemented several new communication tools this school year. I wanted to make sure that you knew what you can expect from us.
    1. Westlake News − weekly email (the email you are reading right now!) sent from me that includes a message from the principal, upcoming events, and success stories. If you have an important announcement and/or success story that you would like us to share in our weekly email blast, please send these to Dama McElderry (Westlake English teacher and PR Coordinator) at mcelderryd@fultonschools.org. You can expect this email each Tuesday.
    2. Weekly Athletic Email − on behalf of our new Athletic Director, Hollis Bethea, we will be sending an email that includes all upcoming athletic events (for the coming week) and success stories (from the previous week). Please consider joining us as we cheer on our student-athletes.
    3. Monthly PTSA Email − our PTSA Executive Board will be sending one email per month that details the work of our PTSA. For those of you who have joined our PTSA, it was important to our Executive Board that you know how your membership is positively impacting our parents, teachers, students, and more!

Please know…our goal is to be respectful of your email inbox while giving you the necessary information to be engaged in your child's education. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any suggestions regarding how we can do better.
