Westlake Tops Jazz, Hip-Hop Dance Competitions

The competitions took place last weekend at McIntosh High School.

Westlake High School's Lion’s MANE Attraction dance team attended the Universal Dance Association’s Georgia Dance Championships at McIntosh High School on February 18, 2010.

"We competed as a large varsity squad in the jazz and hip-hop categories, in which we took first place in each," said Rae Ransom, Westlake's dance instructor. "We had three soloists to compete as well; two in the senior division (we placed eighth & 10th out of 15), and one in the sophomore division (we placed eighth out of 19). We also won the choreography award for our jazz routine."
