I Have a Dream...

An "I Have a Dream" speech for Herman Cain and Barack Obama

I have a dream that sometime in April 2012 Herman Cain will win the Republican nomination for President. I have a dream that a truly post-racial historical presidential election will pit two opposing views of African-American progress in this country against each other: Progress driven by government and social programs versus "up by your bootstraps," self-help progress.

I have a dream that this race will show the left's rabid racism when they go after Herman Cain's commitment to black issues when they have continually said that President Barack Obama lack of commitment to these issues is one of "he is not president of black America."

I have a dream that this race will finally show that "racism" as a form of political warfare is just politics to win.

I have a dream that during this race MSNBC and other liberal media outlets will finally show that liberals can be and are as rabidly racists as well as the conservatives outlets and this will show that racism is a made up issue.

I have a dream that people who believe that they are open minded, and free of racism will look at the issues; this is because in a race pitting two African-Americans against each other there can be no racists.

I have a dream that when posed side by side people will realize that neither political party really cares about the Black vote; they just uses us or ignore us.

I have a dream that Herman Cain's story of personal success will be as inspiring to our young people as Barack Obama's story.

I have a dream that the two pictures of successful black men will show that this is the greatest country in the world in terms of affording one opportunities to better ones self through hard work and education.

I have a dream that Herman Cain's educational background will bring needed attention to the plight of HBCUs and will bring about a debate on their continued importance.

I have a dream that by having two African-American men running for president will forever show that "racism" is no longer a viable excuse for failure.

I have a dream that those who will respond to this missive, will undoubtedly say "Cain is a ..." "Cain is not in it to win it" are all the same things they said about Barack Obama in February 2007 when they supported Hillary Clinton.

I have a dream that people will hear 9-9-9 and realize it is a plan with flaws but a plan none the less.

I have a dream that 9-9-9 will focus attention on the flat tax which as an emerging Black middle class continues to grow, they will realize that this tax plan is one that will work for them.

I have a dream that were this dream realized, so called "leaders" would have no job and will have to get a real job.

I have a dream of a country where everyone based on their political convictions will finally speak clearly about the issues and not be divided on invented anger.

I have a dream that when one side's supporters yells the N word at a rally, it will finally bury this ridiculous argument and word.

I also have a nightmare that in this climate I will not have anybody to debate on Facebook.

I have a dream that the winner of this race will be me and my family.

Dreams come true. I know mine have.
