Random Thoughts on Black Voters, Obama and Herman Cain

Thoughts on politics, society and race.

I have just moved to East Atlanta (still voting for Michael Johnson for Congress in 5th District and so should you). Moving is a very cathartic experience when it is not forced. In my case, it was not but I did experience a situation which caused me to be technically homeless for about one and half months.

I say technically because my angels and good friends, Sandi Burt (Democrat), Tommie Muhammad (N.O.I) and Latron Price (independent) all helped out with a couch over this period. But now I am in a home thanks to God and Bucky Byerly (Republican). I put there political affiliations just to piss you all off :)

So over this period I have seen much and wanted to just pass on some random thoughts. Here goes (don't you smell rubber burning?):

Thinking that if Republicans are racists then why is a black man third in the several straw polls and recently won a straw poll in the deep South? And why have Republican presidents appointed more black people to cabinet positions then Democratic ones?

Thinking that if had real opposition in Republican candidates he would be in trouble.

Thinking that when black media outlets say Republicans want to pull more blacks into Republican party because he is black, how insulting it is to say black people vote for color not issues. Then say black people did not vote for Obama because he is Black.

Thinking that what passes for political discourse on black talk radio can be boiled down to "He (random politician) is racist" or "Support Obama."

Thinking that the people who applauded Obama for killing Osama marched for . Far as I know, Osama was not even tried.

Thinking that Barack Obama has done a C+ job and the Empowerment Zone legislation written by Republicans and passed by Clinton was legislation specifically for black people but was co-opted by rich white people with the help of black political figures who lead black neighborhoods.

Thinking that all people are generally nice and their color or party affiliation has nothing to do with whether they like you or not.

Thinking that how the Georgia pardons and parole killed one guy on Wednesday who could have been innocent and gave a stay to another guy on Thursday who said he committed the crime. Board chair is black, DA in Savannah is black. See above.

Thinking why black people think other blacks care about them any more than whites.

Thinking that if you vote for a candidate in large numbers then you are his constituents. If you are his constituents then he serves you. if he serves you he is NOT to lambaste your behavior or voters.
