The Week Gone By

Wow, what a week it was. A recap.

Troy Davis. We may have killed an innocent man. So much for justice. However, I have often wondered what Ms. Mcphail must have experienced at the execution time. Happiness? Relief? And I have often wondered where Amnesty International and others were when Texas executed the white supremacist and gave a astay to the brother who really did kill his victims. Just asking because if you are against the death penalty (and I am not) then the white hate mongerer who dragged James Byrd should still be us also, right?

The Classic. Hey did you know that FAMU has a white quarterback and Southern has a white coach? and the whole shabang was hosted by the 100 Black Men? Incredible how HBCUs are run. Did you also know that our own Atlanta University Center does NO business with any black banks in our area? Did you also know that our AUC does NO business with many black owned and oerated businesses? And yet YOU will fight and march to keep them going. I swear my people are the best at committing cultural suicide and will blame others for pulling the trigger. Now if FAMU cannot find one black kid to play QB in the entire state of Florida, then they did not look. And if the NAACP had to pressure Division 1 football to interview and hire black coaches then how is a white coach coaching Southern? WTF?

Barack Obama and the Black Vote. Now I am not a hater. I supported President Obama when he was Senator Obama. I spoke loudly and often from my radio bully pulpit about why we should have supported him. As a matter of fact, Dr. Lowery told me that he felt if it were not for me touting Obama here locally, Obama would not have won Georgia in the primaries. So I am no Tavis and West and just jealous. However, Obama's recent speech to the CBC saying how black people should just "stop complaining, and get out of bedroom slippers and march and presson" was in a word-INSULTING. If a black or white Republican would have said the same thing, Ray Metoyer would have wrote about it already (smile). Really Barack, March and get out of bedroom slippers? Now for those who say "he is not president of Black America" Two words-Empowerment Zones. Designed by a republican-Jack Kemp and implemented by a democrat-Bill Clinton. Now if you can bailout Wall Street- you can bail out black businesses and the ghettos. Its called "taking care of YOUR BASE".
