This is the worse time for Basketball to Shut Down

Anyone missed basketball? I know I have not.

Has anyone missed basketball? I know I have not.

I usually do not watch this early what with the World Series going on. However, I check scores and highlights usually with an eye towards who is on top.

But this year with Occupy Atlanta, the elections, and not the best times economically for myself and friends, I am feeling not very sympatico to players or owners.

As owners and players argue over salary caps (3 million a year or more) or revenue sharing (50/50 split of a billion), I feel no shame in saying "screw em all."

Pro Basketball was gettting boring anyway-sub par free throw shooting, no jump shooters anymore, defense non existent, and most importantly, the same teams winning each year. So who cares that these big spoiled brats are taking time off.

More importantly, how many of you can tell me what these One Percenters give back to the Black community? Anybody? Anybody?

Absolutely nothing.

So why should we care about you and your financial well being. Now I never said that these ball players did not derserve their salaries, I am a true capitalist—get as much as you can for your services. However, to whom much is given, much is required.

Think I heard that some where. The league is filled with young, formerly poor African American men who all came from underprivileged communities of color. And none give much back. Now many have foundations, but the fundation game is just that-a game.

Accountants and lawyers always suggest these high paid players and rappers set up foundations to 1) Hire family/friends with out giving away money free 2) tax protection of assets. These foundations do not do anything of substance except the big birthday party filled other high paid rappers serving as guests. "Party with Kanye, TI and ME-All proceeds benefit the foundation".

But while you are off arguing about billions and million dollar salary caps, you think any of you could show a little compassion and sit down at OWS or any of the other occupy events going on? Nah, too scared. How about Occupy the Hood, which is gettting bigger and bigger? Nah?

So if you care nothing about us and your product stinks, why should I give a hoot about you? I don't.

Stay on strike, I got college ball to think about after the Super Bowl.
