Friendship Baptist Votes "Yes" to Sell to the Atlanta Falcons

On Sunday, the members of Friendship Baptist Church voted to agree to sell their building and land to make way for a new Atlanta Falcons stadium along Martin Luther King Drive and Northside Drive.  The agreed purchase amount was $19.5 million compared to the original offer of $13.5 million.

A few days earlier, Mt. Vernon Baptist agreed to accept an amount of money to sell their property and with both churches agreeing, it is a pretty much a done deal that the new stadium will be located on the "south site" closer to Morris Brown College.

Both churches have said that they are looking at other sites to build their new churches.  Friendship Baptist has made their interest known in wanting to possibly buy land from Morris Brown College for their new place of worship.

See the attached 11Alive video report from Friendship Baptist on Sunday afternoon.
