Serenbe Farms: A Piece of Heaven on Earth

If you are looking for great local produce, organic plants for your garden, a get away for the day or good restaurants & shops, look no further. We have you covered! Happy Reading...

I am so excited that my favorite season has finally arrived! I just love the
transition from winter into spring. I feel that spring truly symbolizes a rebirthing
of sorts. The flowers are blooming, the beautiful green grass is returning and
the birds are migrating. It also means great gardening! I love having such a
plethora of fruits and veggies to plant in the spring time.

A few years ago my husband and I discovered one of my new favorite places. This
is non-other than Serenbe, which is a 1,000 acre community located about 30 minutes from Atlanta. It is a national model for the future of balanced development in the U.S.—focusing on land preservation, agriculture, energy efficiency, green building, walkability, high density building, arts and culture, and community living for multiple generations. This community houses one of my other favorite places, Serenbe Farms, which is a certified organic farm that offers over 350 varieties of vegetables, herbs, flowers, fruits, and mushrooms! All of their produce is distributed within 40 miles of the farm through their CSA program, their farmers and artists market and local restaurants.

The first time I visited Serenbe, my breath was taken away. This place is an
absolute treasure hidden in the midst of forest and farm land. When entering
the community there is so much peacefulness in the air. It’s like a little
piece of heaven here on earth! The homes are amazing, the farm is delightful
and the community centered marketplace is an added bonus.

I discovered the farm at after several visits to Serenbe. I had been searching
high and low for a place to find inexpensive organic plants for my garden and
had absolutely no luck until I stumbled upon this farm. Much to my surprise
they had everything we were searching for. There were cucumbers, lettuce, kale,
tomatoes, peppers and so much more in many different varieties. Then, to top it
all off the farmers, Justin and Paige are so amazing! They offer an abundance of gardening knowledge, they have awesome personalities and they are almost always available via phone or in person.

I would definitely recommend Serenbe for anyone looking to plant a nice organic
garden on a budget or just to get away from the daily hustle and bustle while
enjoying great food, good shopping and wonderful people. You can even purchase
a home in the community if you want to wake up there everyday! For more
information you can visit their site at www.serenbecommunity.com or www.serenbefarms.com. I will see you around the farm with lots of produce in tow!
