Addressing the Community: CAU Student Partners with Dress for Success Atlanta

Clark Atlanta University Student and Dress for Success Atlanta partnering on a mutually beneficial campaign plan.

Clark Atlanta University’s Public Relations Management program is known for its outstanding capstone courses during which each student creates and implements a public relations campaign that will impact the local community.  The Campaigns and Seminar courses consist of researching a non-profit organization, analyzing primary issues or opportunities, and developing and implementing a campaign plan for the betterment of the community.

Public Relations Management Senior Tanisha Blue is working with Dress for Success Atlanta during the Fall 2012 semester.  The mission of Dress for Success Atlanta is to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.

Dress for Success Atlanta offers four programs which include the Interview Preparation, a Career Center, a Professional Women’s Group, and a Going Places Network by Wal-Mart.  The organization is dedicated to improving the lives of women in the Atlanta metro area, and in 2011 the team impacted the lives of more than 1,800 women and their 3,000 dependents.

Tanisha will assist the organization to gain more exposure and maintain visibility within the Atlanta metro community.  She will also plan an event to help increase the awareness.  If you are interested in more information about Dress for Success Atlanta, or would like updates on future events please visit the website www.dressforsuccess.org/atlanta.
