Come to the Choice Neighborhood 'Healthy Living Festival' on Saturday morning

Meet the organizations that were awarded Micro-Grants for their work in our neighborhood.

You are  invited to attend the Choice Neighborhoods Healthy Living Festival to be held on Saturday, July 28th , 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., at M. Agnes Jones Elementary (1040 Fair Street, SW Atlanta)

Starting at 10:30 a.m. there will be a meet and greet followed by an 11:00 a.m. awards ceremony recognizing the nine community organizations that each received a Choice Neighborhoods Micro grant through funds made available by the Annie E. Casey Foundation and AHA.

While the micro grant award amounts were modest (ranged from $678 - $3,000) they were high on impact in terms of catalyzing or building upon existing projects being conducted by small non-profit or civic organizations located in the Choice Neighborhoods (and overlapping Promise Neighborhoods) target area.  (The awards were determined by a six-member review panel comprised of representatives from the Annie E. Casey Foundation, Atlanta City Council, Neighborhood Planning Unit and AHA staff and the grants benefitted the young and the young at heart residing in the target area on a number of quality of life initiatives.)
