Outdoor Activity Center 'Green Thanksgiving' Saturday

The Retrofit a Million clean-bulb exchange will host a energy conservation awareness event Saturday at the Outdoor Activity Center.

The Retrofit a Million (LRAM) clean-bulb exchange, in partnership with West Atlanta Watershed Alliance will feature a community "Retrofit Day of Action"  as part of its Green Thanksgiving initiative on Saturday for residents living near the Outdoor Activity Center in West End Atlanta.

The RDA is LRAM’s signature community engagement, advocacy, and leader activation program. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and college student volunteers will engage with residents around the OAC about exploring the health, economic and environmental benefits of energy conservation and will exchange up to 1,000 Compact Fluorescent Lightbulbs (CFL’s).

During this 3.5-hour ecological immersion, service-learning opportunity, six harvest teams of six will canvass an assigned area of responsibility around a one-mile radius of the OAC to deliver direct-to-door efficiency investment packages while performing a full water kit and lighting retrofit including up to 25 CFL's and lighting assessments to residents at no cost.
